Summer is here

Summer is here and the horses are happy in the shade. We are happy too, because after some bumps on the Race 2 Roam track, we are on a straight and smooth path, moving forward every day. When we dreamed of starting a rescue/sanctuary for thoroughbreds, we did not know how many dimensions there are beyond the actual care of the horses. Now we know!! I am sure all other rescues and sanctuaries that are successful have struggled hard in the beginning to make ends meet and stay afloat. I have a new appreciation for all of the rescues and sanctuaries I have supported over the years. As a lifelong animal welfare volunteer for numerous organizations in my home state of Maryland, I never understood how challenging the actual management of the organization is until I became involved with Race 2 Roam. I look forward to a very long run and hope you will join us along the way.
